Henk Penning commented on INFRA-8020:
-------------------------------------

... chatted with maxmind ;
-- our maxmind #userid is 331
-- mail/login: root@apache.org
-- database we want is : GeoIP2-Country
-- GeoIP Legacy format: GeoLite Country IPv6 database available at :
    http://dev.maxmind.com/geoip/legacy/geolite/

-- Updated our records in foundation SoftwareKeys/GeoIP.txt

Our geoipupdate stuff is too old to handle the new stuff ;
src and binaries are here:

> At the moment, our MaxMind's geoiplookup stuff only maps IPv4 addresses
> to the proper country codes.
> This means that (for instance):
> -- downloaders using an IPv6 address are directed to mirrors in
> the default (.us) domain.
> -- mirrors using an IPv6 address, syncing from "rsync.apache.org" are all redirected
to "aurora.apache.org"
> -- other probs ?
> The solutions is to upgrade our geoip stuff.
> It appears we have a free MaxMind license,
> but I can't find any details regarding this license.
