Subject [jira] [Commented] (INFRA-6744) URL Encoding Not Friendly With Chrome
Date Mon, 28 Jul 2014 20:15:42 GMT

Sebb commented on INFRA-6744:
-----------------------------

There are two issues with the private mail search host

1) The mod_mbox software is out of date, and does not handle some UTF chars properly
This has been (mostly) fixed; the version on the public archive server works much better

2) the Lucene/Solr search is missing large chunks of data.

In this case, I think the main problem is due to out of date mod_mbox software.

> When using mail-search.apache.org, I found a link:
> When I access that URL in Chrome, I get a bad request. When I access it in Safari, it
automatically translates the URL to:
> Notice the %s -> %25s. Perhaps we could do a better job encoding the URLs up front
so that we help out Chrome.
