Jake Farrell commented on INFRA-7871:

Hey [~rmetzger], INFRA-5951 was closed and no import was done and not sure what happened in
INFRA-7179 as we typically do not do ticket imports from Github. The Jira API is an easy rest
api [1] is how you create tickets. I have some ruby scripts for writing change logs and if
you want an example of interacting with the api

> Import GitHub issues of Apache Flink into JIRA
> ----------------------------------------------

> The Apache Incubator Project "Flink" (formerly Stratosphere) recently got a JIRA from
INFRA: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-7765
> The committers decided that a full import of all existing GitHub issues (around 900)
into JIRA would be best for our project.
> You can find the GitHub issues here: https://github.com/stratosphere/stratosphere/issues?direction=desc&sort=updated&state=open
> Our JIRA is here: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLINK
> I'll provide a CSV export for our GitHub issues later today. Let me know if you need
anything else.
