Subject [jira] [Commented] (INFRA-5588) Ubuntu VM for JSPWiki
Date Wed, 27 Nov 2013 08:35:36 GMT

Harry Metske commented on INFRA-5588:

Thanks for your support, both wiki's now function fine.
Thanks for the spam tip, I had not configured the doc wiki at all yet, so I fixed that first
(including SpamFilter).

What I noticed is that http://jspwiki.apache.org/wiki redirects to http://jspwiki-wiki.apache.org/wiki
which redirects to https://jspwiki-wiki.apache.org/wiki.
So we would advocate https://jspwiki-wiki.apache.org/wiki as our wiki URL.
(and the same for the doc wiki).

Two minor things :

* The client IP address we now see is always (erebus-ssl.a.o). This pretty much
makes our fail2ban (for http(s) and JSPWiki spamfilter useless, it would be nice if you could
pass the origin client IP address (like ajp does)

* The proxy inserts /wiki in the request, this makes that the robots.txt file cannot be found,
for example :

https://jspwiki-wiki.apache.org/robots.txt => proxy => https://jspwiki-wiki.apache.org/wiki/robots.txt
 ==> 404

I have not found a way yet to handle that in apache on the vm, Alias does not work because
the ProxyPass to localhost:8009 takes precedence.

I will ask my fellow JSPWiki developers what they think of the current configuration.
Thanks for your support so far !

> We want to move our project and dokumentation wikis to an Apache-hosted VM.
> The requirements are as follows:
> Ubuntu OS, 1 GB memory, 20 GB of HDD space, CPU doesn't have to be very beefy
> Regarding ports, we need http, https and ssh.
> My ssh public key can be found in the LDAP directory.
> At the moment, the machine is running one or more Tomcat instances for serving www.jspwiki.org,
sandbox.jspwiki.org and doc.jspwiki.org. Is it possible to keep these names?
> Thanks and regards
