Subject [jira] [Closed] (INFRA-6713) REST API is not escaping the description fields correctly
Date Tue, 10 Sep 2013 03:01:53 GMT

]

Jake Farrell closed INFRA-6713.
-------------------------------

    Resolution: Fixed
      Assignee: Jake Farrell

I threw together a simple ruby script to call the jira rest api with jql = "project = JUDDI
AND issue = JUDDI-643" and then JSON.parse the response.body and can get back the description
and all other fields from that ticket with no problems.

Also when pasting into jsonlint.com the string is truncated, which is what the invalid json
is from. formatting the json first and then putting it into jsonlint.com works as expected
and yields result of valid json.

> Well passing the output of the following issue
> https://issues.apache.org/jira/rest/api/2/issue/JUDDI-643
> Into the json lint tool at http://jsonlint.com/
> it becomes obvious that the description field is not properly escaped and causes validation
and parsing errors for the JIRA REST APIs. Is it possible to file a bug with JIRA to resolve?
