Harry Metske commented on INFRA-5588:
-------------------------------------

Gavin,

sorry for the delay, been busy the last few days. I have setup orthrus now :

metskem@jspwiki-vm:~$ opiepasswd
otp-md5 500 js1
Password:
metskem@jspwiki-vm:~$ echo $?
0
metskem@jspwiki-vm:~$

About Florian, we haven't heard from him for many months, I don't expect a reaction from him
here anymore.

I have a couple of questions about the administration of the Ubuntu VM :

1) Should I ask them here, do you want separte JIRA's, or something else ?
2) If 1) is yes:
3) Who (meaning we jspwiki committers, or the INFRA team) should do the (OS) patching ? (I
don't mind who does it, as long as it happens).
4) Who monitors logfiles and for example acts on fail2ban output ?
5) Who does the (minimal) monitoring ? (fs full, looping processes, availability of apache/tomcats),
and can/should we use the ASF nagios infra ?
6) Tony says here above "we will reverse proxy the http and https connections from a VM we
control.", That should be arranged. We plan to run apache on port 80 with ajp connecting to
two tomcats, am I correct that you have the http and https endpoints on eos.apache.org and
forward them to us (see above URLs from Juan Pablo) ?
7) Any other rules we have to obey, what we should do and should never do, especially with
regards to security?

kind regards,
Harry

> We want to move our project and dokumentation wikis to an Apache-hosted VM.
> The requirements are as follows:
> Ubuntu OS, 1 GB memory, 20 GB of HDD space, CPU doesn't have to be very beefy
> Regarding ports, we need http, https and ssh.
> My ssh public key can be found in the LDAP directory.
> At the moment, the machine is running one or more Tomcat instances for serving www.jspwiki.org,
sandbox.jspwiki.org and doc.jspwiki.org. Is it possible to keep these names?
> Thanks and regards
