Subject [jira] [Updated] (INFRA-5588) Ubuntu VM for JSPWiki
Date Wed, 18 Sep 2013 13:16:54 GMT

Gavin updated INFRA-5588:

Status: Waiting for user (was: Waiting for Infra)

You guys are trying to put a password directly as the response to the question provided by
running ortpasswd on the VM. You don't do that.

You need to :

1. run 'ortpasswd' on the VM
2. run an opie client locally (that means NOT on the VM but on your own machine.)
example of this command would be 'opiekey 500 js2386'
3. type in your password locally in the opie client - this is in response to step 2.
4. step 3 will reply to your password by echoing back a 6 word response.
5. copy the 6 word response and paste in back into the VM as a response to 1.

that should set you up.

Note that I will not add you to any sudo group until you have success in creating your setup
(Horse before the Cart etc ...)

note that once setup, every time you need to run sudo, you do NOT need to run ortpasswd on
the VM, but it will ask you for a 6 word one time passphrase which you grab by running steps
2 through 5 above again.

(You can save time by saving a few passphrases at a time.

'opiekey 499 -n 20 js2386' will give you 20 , save them safely in an encrypted file somewhere
for future use, your choice.)

Any questions or you want to run through this real time, catch me on freenode in #asfinfra)

> We want to move our project and dokumentation wikis to an Apache-hosted VM.
> The requirements are as follows:
> Ubuntu OS, 1 GB memory, 20 GB of HDD space, CPU doesn't have to be very beefy
> Regarding ports, we need http, https and ssh.
> My ssh public key can be found in the LDAP directory.
> At the moment, the machine is running one or more Tomcat instances for serving www.jspwiki.org,
sandbox.jspwiki.org and doc.jspwiki.org. Is it possible to keep these names?
> Thanks and regards
