Henri Yandell commented on INFRA-1361:
--------------------------------------

Being able to edit the versions yourself means needing JIRA Admins. There are over a hundred
of these (and I bet some are Cocoon developers), but the aim was to try and reduce that count
now that we've got project roles.

There's a JIRA Labels plugin that allows for community driven custom fields to be created
(tags basically). The biggest negative is that you don't get a select when doing searches,
instead you would have to type the name of the component version. You could use the tag cloud
as a page to find things.

Any thoughts on whether that would be worth trying? Any idea if any of your developers are
already JIRA admins?

> I would like you to ask for adding two custom fields to our JIRA both of cascading select
type. These fields should have following names:
> * Affects version (Component)
> * Fix version (Component)
> We would like to have ability to edit it's select options ourselves as they are going
to change quite frequently.
> Thanks in advance!
