That should say "users in ldap" not groups.

Also meant to give this example as alternative to getent for userid validation:

Where uid=sebb.   I think we still have cn=uid unless something has changed.

ldapsearch -x -D "cn=root,dc=apache,dc=org" -W -b "ou=people,dc=apache,dc=org" -s sub "(cn=sebb)"
