This is what I'm trying to do: I would like to build our project (mesos) under different build environments (e.g., automake version x.y.z, gcc version a.b.c). Or maybe even something as simple as do the build on the last 3 versions of ubuntu/fedora/centos/osx. Ideally this would be CI jobs to vet every new commit. I was wondering if I could leverage Apache Jenkins to do this. I imagine we could do this if Jenkins is configured with virtualization plugins (libvirt, virtualbox, vagrant etc). Is this supported? Also, I'm interested to know how other apache projects that need to support multiple platforms deal with this problem?
