Thanks for ur reply.
The site is overloaded is right but still, whenever site is restarted we get the
error "child process does not exit" being generated on the error log.
Often the site performance becomes slow becos of this.
Can u suggest any changes to increase the site performance.

How do you know it is the child-processes not exiting
that is affecting site performance and not the
other way around?  What you report looks to me
simply like symptoms of an overloaded site.
