Not off hand....help really needed - any pointers - This happens every time
and the only error_log is the one mentioned above. Glad to do any more
debugging you would want me to do.

 Now notice, that it fails at read_request_line on line 867. This is at
 the beginning of the routine? Not in it somewhere in it. If I type in
 the ladebug (like dbx) and then go up one to ap_read_request() line 1049,
 I get two different values for r.

 It is almost like read_request_line function is being corrupted.
 
 We have three system:
 gpc - with Compaq Tru64 4.0f - a 2100 with a ev5 chip
 gpc1 - with Compaq Tru64 4.0f - a xp1000 with ev6 chip
 webct - with Compaq Tru64 5.0a - es40 with ev6 chip
 
 Compiled on the other gpc and webct they work fine, but on gpc1
 it fails. gpc1 is the only one in c2 security mode right now. I
 want ot move the others that way, but can't until this is resolved.
 I did not find any reference to the getes*() routines used under
 c2 security, but din't think they are really needed. Only getpw*()
 rouintes should be needed.
 
 Anyway, the only real difference is that gpc1 is in c2 security mode.
 
 Any ideas?
