Subject RE: os-solaris/6588: system crash - httpd does not start on boot
Date Tue, 26 Sep 2000 20:37:43 GMT
A cleaner approach is to identify whether httpd is running, e.g.

 PID=`/bin/ps -ef | /bin/grep httpd | /bin/grep root | /bin/grep -v grep |
/bin/awk '{ print $2 }'`

This says,
"Which PIDs are associated with httpd cmd?
Choose one running as root, presumably others are running as webmaster.
Ignore the PID associated with grep
PID should be second word in the string."
