I'd like to add the following to bug report #3558 (hoping I'm doing
that right):

The same problem with error messages concerning failed attempts to
create links in the proxy cache happens on our web server, a SUN
running Solaris 2.6 and Apache 1.3.12 (including mod_ssl 2.6.6)
compiled with gcc 2.8.1.

Here's the output of mount

# mount
/ on /dev/dsk/c0t3d0s0 read/write/setuid/largefiles on Wed May 24
17:50:29 2000
/usr on /dev/dsk/c0t3d0s6 read/write/setuid/largefiles on Wed May 24
17:50:29 2000
/proc on /proc read/write/setuid on Wed May 24 17:50:29 2000
/var on /dev/dsk/c0t3d0s1 read/write/nosuid/largefiles on Wed May 24
17:50:29 2000
/tmp on swap e@ on Wed May 24 17:50:30 2000

(several NFS lines omitted) - and the output of df -k:

# df -k
Filesystem kbytes used avail capacity Mounted on
/dev/dsk/c0t3d0s0 61421 18521 36758 34% /
/dev/dsk/c0t3d0s6 457842 347483 64575 85% /usr
/proc 0 0 0 0% /proc
/dev/dsk/c0t3d0s1 326296 131116 162551 45% /var
swap 102400 15088 87312 15% /tmp

(several lines omitted) - and df -e, which a Solaris equivalent of
df -i on Linux:

# df -e
Filesystem ifree
/dev/dsk/c0t3d0s0 31347
/dev/dsk/c0t3d0s6 207856
/proc 1180
/dev/dsk/c0t3d0s1 147477
swap 11557

(several lines omitted).

The proxy cache directory is /var/proxy, and as you can see /var is
a normal, local filesystem with some space and (hopefully) enough
inodes free.

Hope this helps a little bit to resolve that problem.

Regards,

Jan Hildebrandt
