I am trying to install JServ-19981110 on Solaris 2.6.x with Apache
1.3.3. I get the following error,

ranlib libstandard.a
<=== src/modules/standard
===> src/modules/jserv
Makefile:106: warning: overriding commands for target `libjserv.a'
Makefile:58: warning: ignoring old commands for target `libjserv.a'

The apache_1.3.3/src/modules/jserv/Makefile looks like:

jserv_image.c: jserv_mkimg
        $(CC) jserv_mkimg.c -o jserv_mkimg
        rm -f ./jserv_mkimg

But I think it should be,

jserv_image.c: jserv_mkimg
        $(CC) jserv_mkimg.c -o jserv_mkimg
        ./jserv_mkimg jserv.gif jserv_image.c
        rm -f ./jserv_mkimg
