not machine specific but my compiler is very thorough! when compiling
cc -c -Iregex  -O -n32 -DIRIX -DSTATUS   http_protocol.c
"http_protocol.c", line 300: warning(1184): possible use of "=" where "==" was
          intended
           ((r->proto_num >= 1001) && (r->chunked = 1))) &&
                                      ^
IT IS USUALLY RIGHT - but I don't have time to check what r-chunked is.. sorry.
This may throw up a real bug!
