 Try removing "#define HAVE_SHMGET" from conf.h in the LINUX section.  I
 don't know about you, but I find the libc/kernel differences between
 linux-alpha and linux-i86 annoying.  It looks like the alpha port doesn't
 support shared memory.
 
 Could you send me the output of "uname -a" on your system?  I'd like to
 add a check for this to the Configure script.
