Betreff: Strings in Velocity template?

Hi,

I would like to know, if the java object String and its methods(like
substring()) can be accessed from within a velocity template(.vm).
Based on the Velocity user guide, it seems to be not feasible.
Appreciate any help.

Thanks a lot!
Hemanth
