You should be able to override the deploy target on the command line:

https://maven.apache.org/plugins/maven-deploy-plugin/deploy-mojo.html

If you are using e.g. Jenkins, you can tell Jenkins the location of your alternate repository.

Changing the poms should not be necessary.
