Whoopsy... there was a typo in the previous post in this section... fixed here:

builder = new AggregateBuilder();
builder.add(analysisEngineDescription1, "output", "data");
// last arg below was "output", should have been "data"
builder.add(analysisEngineDescription1, CAS.NAME_DEFAULT_SOFA, "data"); 
AnalysisEngineDescription aggregateEngine = builder. createAggregateDescription();
