Subject [jira] Commented: (TS-15) User nobody / group nobody might not exist
Date Thu, 05 Nov 2009 16:19:32 GMT

Bryan Call commented on TS-15:

We should add a defines to specify the default user and group. Then they can be overridden
during configure.

The defines should be:

> User nobody / group nobody might not exist
> -------------------------------------------
> Key: TS-15
> URL:

> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: Build
> Reporter: Leif Hedstrom
> The user nobody, or group nobody, might not exist on some system, causing "make install"
to fail. We should check for some common alternatives here, and/or provide switches to configure
to specify which user and group to use (two switches). For example, on Ubuntu the user "nobody"
is a member of the group "nogroup", causing our install breaks.
