Well, Geronimo 2 does this. Not sure whether it is what you're after, but chances are you will like it. Give it a shot and report back. If you're concerned with the "package" size, you shouldn't as you might trim the size of Geronimo codebase to the Little-G (Tomcat + some additional packages like transaction and alike) and throw OpenEJB plugin to it.
