Subject [jira] [Commented] (TOMEE-1981) Allow to disable TomEEJohnzonProvider
Date Thu, 08 Dec 2016 07:24:59 GMT

Romain Manni-Bucau commented on TOMEE-1981:

Well, disabling config only applies to server specific providers. These ones are client too
and we dont have this feature there - if we do, your patch should move the config reading
to a shared class cause the listener is a server thing, maybe CxfUtil or a new one?

On the sorting the spec is actually clear - and why tomee 7 behaves a bit differently than
1. The wildcard type is a kind of fallback by spec yes and jackson needs to fix it for jaxrs
2. However the priority of these providers is still the lower for json since we put them on
the bus, cxf treat it after others for the same type.

We expose a comparator on server side which can maybe be used but client one is handled on
the client code.

Note that if we dont put that specific type we get other unexpected provider usages - johnzon
was using wildcard as jackson but jaxrs 2 made it broken.

> While it is easy to deactivate all these providers by setting the property {{org.apache.johnzon.jaxrs.WadlDocumentMessageBodyWriter.activated=false}}
this is not possible for the TomeeJohnzonProvider and the TomeeJsonpProvider.
> For these 2 providers it should also be possible to deactivate them, in particular as
it is difficult to get them out of the way when you are using other MessageBodyWriters for
Json that should bind to the media type {{*/*}}.
> I already created a PR for that at, maybe it
is acceptable.
