Subject [jira] [Commented] (OPENEJB-2066) "openejb stop" leaves the standalone java process running but broken

Bill Cole commented on OPENEJB-2066:
------------------------------------

There is no app. There is no "container" that I am aware of. There is a single java process
which was started with "openejb start" and which had multiple network sockets listening until
a subsequent "openejb stop" caused it to log the cited 14 lines but not exit. The stack trace
was of the PID of that process, the only java process running on the machine. This is an initial
installation of the standalone OpenEJB server on an otherwise idle system, with the goal of
creating a VM image ready for users to deploy apps onto it. All configuration is unmodified,
as unpacked from the 4.6.0 distribution tarball.

It is possible that I've missed some step which is undocumented because it would be obvious
to a Java developer, but which is not obvious to a sysadmin. The README.txt file in the distribution
seems to argue against that.

> Running "$OPENEJB_HOME/bin/openejb stop" results in the server being (mostly?) disabled
but leaves a java process running. From the log os an instance with no deployed apps, started
40 seconds earlier:
