Subject [jira] Updated: (OPENEJB-955) Wrong error message during install for Tomcat
Date Wed, 19 Nov 2008 22:16:44 GMT

Rainer Jung updated OPENEJB-955:

Thank's for the quick reaction.

Concerning part 2: Unfortunately detecting Windows versus other OSes seems to be not that
easy. ant has some code to set an ant property os family. It checks, whether there is "Windows"
in the OS name system property set by the JVM. Of course we don't know whether this will be
the case for future Windows versions.

> During OpenEJB installation using the OpenEJB Tomcat-Installer the installer checks the
existence of the files and catalina.bat. If one of those does not exist, the installer
produces the message
> "Catalina file does not exist".
> Note that it says "", even if the missing file is catalina.bat.
> On many Unix/Linux systems, catalina.bat is removed, since it is never used.
> Fix part 1: Change error message when checking catalina.bat (trivial, patch attached)
> Fix part 2: Don't try to fix catalina.bat on Unix/Linux when non-existing, don't try
to fix on Windows when not existing (don't abort installation)
