It was a change to fix an issue important for security. See
https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=50026


If you just need to forward to the servlet, do you need to map it to
different path?
It is possible to select the servlet by its name,
ServletContext.getNamedDispatcher("default").forward(..)
