Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing? A: Top-posting. Q: What is the most annoying thing in e-mail? On the other hand, inline-posting preserves the logical order of the replies and is consistent with the Western reading direction from top to bottom. Like this : Q: What is the most annoying thing in e-mail? A: Top-posting. Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing? A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text. ... "Inline" posting is more work for the poster : you need to scroll down the message, possibly remove the parts that are irrelevant, leave the parts to which you are answering, and write your answer *below* the relevant part. But it allows someone else to follow the conversation, which "top-posting" does not. Use top-posting for your personal mail if you want, but /not/ in this forum. It is annoying. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: users-unsubscribe@tomcat.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: users-help@tomcat.apache.org
