What does 'which java' return?

I wonder if you're being too specific about the JAVA_HOME. For instance,
I have Java 1.6 installed via Debian's package manager and my JAVA_HOME
is set to "/usr", though Java is really installed under
"/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun/".

I haven't tried using jsvc under this environment, but I'll give it a try.
