If you have access to the library source, you might want to consider replacing the JVM shutdown
hook with a ServletContextListener.  This will do the appropriate cleanup whenever the webapp
is stopped (e.g., redeployment), rather than just when Tomcat terminates - and get rid of
the class not found problem.
