Assuming you are deploying by dropping myapp.war into webapps:
1.  Delete webapps/ROOT ;
2.  Rename myapp.war to ROOT.war   (case is important here)
3.  Deploy your new ROOT.war in webapps.
4.   Since ROOT is the default that tomcat will run when it can't  
match the incoming request, www.mysite.com will
invoke ROOT which will be your myapp.
