Pierre, I think its just the mapping in your JK files...

eg:
JkMount /theWebApp/*.jsp  lb

Means any jsp file under /theWebApp
even ones that dont exist... so TC does 404's

but

JkMount /theWebApp/myFile.jsp  lb

would mean

/theWebApp/IDontExist.htm

would be 404'd by apache

... I think ;)
