Good Afternoon Bill-

First step is to setup SSL 
http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-4.1-doc/ssl-howto.html
IN your certificate keystore specify algo which conforms to DoD level Security (I would check
with www.RSASecurity.com for the following example to replace the default of X509)
keytool -genkey -alias tomcat specify -keyalg RSA
also be sure to uncomment the SSL HTTP/1.1 Connector to enable the secure connection-
