Shouldn't be any problems. Are you sure there are not other programs
bound to 80?

Try netstat -a in the dos window.

Subject: running tomcat on port 80

Hi, Can I run Tomcat 5.0 on port 80? I do not want my
visitor have to type the port number.

After setting 80
as port number in the server.xml and starting tomcat,
I got the following error message:

SEVERE: Error starting endpoint
java.net.BindException:permission denied:80

Thanks,
