Be careful about this bug with the DataSourceRealm (fixed in 5.5.8):
http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=33357
Similarly, I would appreciate testing of the fix.

I agree there's absolutely no reason to use the regular JDBC realm,
which can be a bottleneck in some cases.
