This might help:

Here is what mine looks like:

# This is a list of workers that I'm going to create.
# Only one for now.

# This worker points to my Tomcat instances:
# Tomcat starts up an AJP Connector in Server.xml on port 8009 in the
default config.

Now you need to load the module and mapping(s) to the httpd.conf file like so:
# Load Wrap Modules.
LoadModule jk_module modules/
<IfModule mod_jk.c>
  JkWorkersFile /global/appsvrdg/d01/app/apache2/2.0.52/conf/
  JkMount /jsp-examples/* ajp13_dli
