Subject tomcat 4.1 persistent jdbc session manager
Date Wed, 01 Dec 2004 13:37:58 GMT
Hi,
i have followed the steps as described in
http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat/tomcat-4.1-doc/config/manager.html
to create a jdbc based store:
I have an oracle9 db where I created a table as following:

create table bb_bb60.tomcat_sessions (
  session_id     varchar(100) not null,
  valid_session  char(1) not null,
  max_inactive   int not null,
  last_access    integer not null,
  app_name       varchar(255),
  session_data   blob,
  CONSTRAINT kapp_name PRIMARY KEY (app_name)
)
/

then i have put inside my <Context> element:
		<Logger
className="org.apache.catalina.logger.SystemOutLogger" verbosity="4"/>
                <Manager
className="org.apache.catalina.session.PersistentManager" debug="99"
saveOnRestart="true"
                        maxIdleSwap="0" maxIdleBackup="0">
                        <Store
                                className="org.apache.catalina.session.JDBCStore"
                                connectionURL="jdbc:oracle:thin:username/password@myhost:myport:SID"

                                debug="99"
                                driverName="oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver"
                                sessionAppCol="APP_NAME"
                                sessionDataCol="SESSION_DATA"
                                sessionIdCol="SESSION_ID"
                                sessionLastAccessedCol="LAST_ACCESS"
                                sessionMaxInactiveCol="MAX_INACTIVE"
                                sessionTable="TOMCAT_SESSIONS"
                                sessionValidCol="VALID_SESSION"/>
                </Manager>

But i always get these errors in my catalina.out

JDBCStore[/toledo]: The database connection is null or was found to be
closed. Trying to re-open it.
JDBCStore[/toledo]: A SQL exception occurred java.sql.SQLException:
invalid arguments in call

ojdbc14.jar is in my tomcat_home/common/lib directory

When I create a java project and use the connectionURL, everything
works :(

kind regards
Pieter Vandepitte
