Subject Broken pipe error when errorCode 404 is returned
Date Thu, 29 Apr 2004 16:14:34 GMT
Hi,

I'm using Tomcat 5.0.19 and every time a file is requested from a directory
that doesn't exist the container throws the following error in catalina.out
log file:

org.apache.catalina.core.StandardHostValve@12db7c: Exception Processing
ErrorPage[errorCode=404, location=/err404.html]
ClientAbortException:  java.net.SocketException: Broken pipe
        at
org.apache.coyote.tomcat5.OutputBuffer.realWriteBytes(OutputBuffer.java:416)
        at
org.apache.tomcat.util.buf.ByteChunk.flushBuffer(ByteChunk.java:436)
............

The corresponding context correctly maps the error-page and there are no
problems with the web site but what bothers me are these errors in the log
file. Is there anything that can be fixed or even a setting to ignore all
these errors?

Thanks,
Ross
