Howdy,
Only in a container-specific, non-portable way: navigate down the tomcat classes starting
with Server to get the Context (org.apache.catalina.Context) for your webapp, call addApplicationListener
on it with the class name of your listener.  Call removeApplicationListener to remove your
listener.
