No, my mistake. This is my server.xml context for using a resource link:

<Context path="/blacksail" docBase="blacksail"
           debug="5" reloadable="true" crossContext="true">
    <Logger className="org.apache.catalina.logger.FileLogger"
             prefix="localhost_realm_log." suffix=".txt"
             timestamp="true"/>
    <ResourceLink name="jdbc/RealmDB"

</Context>

Perhaps it's the resource link type here that you need to examine?
