Subject problem unpacking war file: MANIFEST not found
Date Thu, 04 Sep 2003 10:09:26 GMT
Hi!

I've got a problem with tomcat 4.1.27 (under linux )unpacking my war
file.
All works well if I have a Host with appBase="webapps" and put my war
file under $CATALINA_HOME/webapps.
The log snippet is:

....
2003-09-04 11:57:35 HostConfig[localhost]: Expanding web application
archive dialog.war
2003-09-04 11:57:35 StandardHost[localhost]: Installing web application
at context path /dialog from URL
file:/usr/java/jakarta-tomcat/webapps/dialog
2003-09-04 11:57:35 WebappLoader[/dialog]: Deploying class repositories
to work directory
/usr/java/jakarta-tomcat/work/Standalone/localhost/dialog
2003-09-04 11:57:35 WebappLoader[/dialog]: Deploy class files
/WEB-INF/classes to
/usr/java/jakarta-tomcat/webapps/dialog/WEB-INF/classes
....

But if I change the Hosts appBase to "/var/www/someName" and THE VERY
SAME war file is located in this directory, I get a
FileNotFoundException concerning the dialog/META-INF/MANIFEST.

Some ideas?
Of course, inside the warfile, there is no directory "dialog/META-INF",
but only META-INF, WEB-INF etc, but that is just normal, isn't it?

Thanks,
Sonja
