They give the patents out, and then tell the Euro Parliament what patent law to write to justify it. By the way, you guys have software patents in the US already and in fact recently some patent court case awarded 0.5 billion against M$ to some small CA company - who have apparently the patent on 'browser extensions'. :P On 08/28/2003 06:10 PM Nguyen Anh Tuan wrote: > I think the European Commission invented this stupid > idea when they were drunk. > > However, those stupid people might be bribed by Bill > Gates to do so. > > I can't believe that those primitive animals like > people in the European Commission still exist in the > 21st Century. > > --- Stuart MacPherson wrote: > >>Forbid independent development of innovative >>software-based solutions... >> >>So you might only be able to code for someone else?! >> >>That does not sound good... >> >> >> >> >>-----Original Message----- >>From: Adam Hardy >>[mailto:ahardy.struts@cyberspaceroad.com] >>Sent: 28 August 2003 13:01 >>To: Struts Users Mailing List; Tomcat Users List >>Subject: [OT] but IMPORTANT >> >>If you haven't checked >> >>http://jakarta.apache.org/ >> >>today, do so and read the welcome page.
