Hi All,
I am a newbie to tomcat and have a problem about configuration on
Windows XP.
my configuration details:
-Win XP
-Sun JDK 1.4 beta
-Tomcat 4.1.24
-no IIS services runing
-installed tomcat
-can start tomcat (saw the DOS-Window title "Catalina".)
-machine is not under any network
-sharing an Internet from cable connection its like LAN
-IE browser setting, Internet Options--->Connections--->Lan Settings have
no check marks for auto detect settings or use auto config scripts or use
a proxy server.
-C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc\Hosts is in order.
127.0.0.1 localhost
Test Tomcat: http://localhost:80/ or http://localhost:8080/ or
http://127.0.0.1:80/ or http://127.0.0.1:8080/ (appropriate change is made
in C:\jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24\conf\server.xml nonSSL HTTP port), brings an
error message.(HTTP 500 internal Server Error).
Any idea or suggestion or insight on what steps are missing that could
correct the above problem would be much appreciated!
