Subject 8-bit data munged in apache->jk->tomcat
Date Wed, 14 May 2003 22:16:00 GMT
Hi,

We are receiving a binary stream from Adobe (it's a pdf) over an http
connection (in the body of the POST, but not mime-encoded)

This worked great when tomcat (v4.1.18 fwiw) was set to respond directly
to the requests, but now that apache dispatches to tomcat (v4.1.24) via
jk, some/all 8-bit data is scrambled. For example, codes (octal) like
\342 \343 \317 \323 get turned into ? (or at least that's how emacs
shows it)

This is using apache 1.3.27, tomcat-4.1.24, tomcat-connectors-4.1.24,
jdk 1.4.1_02, solaris 8, ajp13 (tried both
org.apache.coyote.tomcat4.CoyoteConnector and
org.apache.ajp.tomcat4.Ajp13Connector).

Any ideas? Is there any way to make this work?

Brad
