thx for the prompt response mark;

i did run a configure - - with-jni ,  and in the makefile in the jni
directory an entry
for install is foreseen , but it doesn't copy the necessary files , strange
..
do i only have to copy jni_connect.so to the modules directory
 or are there other files ?

Chris,

I didn't run a make install, but manually copied
things over to the <apache-root>/modules directory.
However, take a look at the Makefile to see what's
installed.

I would think that if you did a configure with
--with-jni, the resulting Makefile should have the
appropriate install targets.

I'll reboot later on today and take a look at the
Linux side of my box to make sure.  If there is no
target for the jni, then I would consider this a bug
in the generated   Makefile.
