AFAIK tomcat has no own timeout of this kind.

Are you shure that the problem is on the serverside 
at all, and not the browser ?

The only thing on the serverside that could cause 
something like that would be a timeout in the servlet 
(e.g connection or read time out while reading 
 from a socket or database)
