I usually give an alias to the servlet and give this alias as the target 
of the HTML form:

    <servlet>
        <servlet-name>MyServlet</servlet-name>
        <display-name>MyServlet</display-name>
        <servlet-class>packageName.ServletClassName</servlet-class>
    </servlet>
    <servlet-mapping>
        <servlet-name>MyServlet</servlet-name>
        <url-pattern>/MyAlias</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>

and in the HTML:

<form target="/MyAlias">
