Subject Help finding installation path programmatically
Date Wed, 11 Sep 2002 19:05:49 GMT
Howdy,

Anyone know a way to get the tomcat installation path from inside a servlet?

I'm using a URLClassLoader to partition the namespace, and "file:
/usr/local/tomcat/webapps/app/app.jar" is way more efficient than
"http:/localhost:8080/app/app.jar"

Since getenv() is deprecated, I can't just go after CATALINA_HOME.

The only method I can come up with is to grab the url for a known library
from the parent classloader and manipulate the string into what I need, but
it feels pretty kludgy.

Thanks,

Jack
