Subject RE: How to Compile mod_webapp.so
Date Fri, 23 Aug 2002 23:07:15 GMT
Hello,

 Now that I figured out the topic in the mail Subject: "How
to Compile mod_webapp.so" I am listing what I did here in case
anyone else needs to do it. My Apache http server is 1.3.26 and
Tomcat is 4.0.4.

 1. If you do not have autoconf download autoconf-2.53.tar.gz from
  http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/autoconf and compile & install it;

 2. If you do not have apr download apr_APACHE_2_0_35.tar.gz from
  http://jakarta.apache.org/builds/jakarta-tomcat-connectors/webapp/release/v1.2.0/src and
compile & install it;

 3. download jakarta-tomcat-connectors-4.0.4-src.tar.gz from
  http://jakarta.apache.org/builds/jakarta-tomcat-4.0/release/v4.0.4/src

    in my case I have the tar -xf stuff in /usr/local/jakarta-tomcat-connectors-4.0.4-src

 4. cd webapp
    ln -s /usr/local/apr apr
    (include /usr/local/apache/bin in your PATH)
    ./support/buildconf.sh			(it generates file configure)

    CC=/usr/local/bin/gcc \
    CFLAGS=-DXTI-SUPPORT \
    ./configure --with-apxs=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs

    make

 5. cd apache-1.3
    cp -p mod_webapp.so /usr/local/apache/libexec/.
    ldd /usr/local/apache/libexec/mod_webapp.so (make sure
			that all dynamic dependencies are found)

    (add the following line in Apache httpd.conf)
    LoadModule webapp_module  libexec/mod_webapp.so

    /usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl configtest (should get Syntax OK)
