attach your build.properties file in your next email.

Also, why are you using Blackdown?...why not just get J2SDK 1.3.1_03
from java.sun.com?  Not that this probably has anything to do with it,
except that DEPRECATED message leads me to think that perhaps your java
dist has an old version of something that xalan replaces, that could be
why your installed version of xalan never gets used.
