Wow - I stirred up a good discussion =)

Yes, I think I agree.  It would be much nicer to have _a_ connector (maybe
two if there there was sufficient reason) that was well documented.  The
connectors are the part of tomcat which I abhor - quite literally, they
intimidate me.
